Yesterday I had the complete honor to shoot Sam and Jennifer's wedding on Capitol Hill, with the ever-so-lovely, Lydia.

Here are some pre-wedding details:

Sam and Jennifer decided to do a "sneak-peak" before the ceremony, which is becoming more and more common! As a photographer I especially love it :) It's nice for the bride and groom to have a special moment together, and it's nice to have all the pictures done before you are even married!

The very first time I met Jennifer - way back in January - I saw this little room and I could.not.wait to get her down there for some pictures!

The bridal party was awesome as we walked all around The Capital area, keeping up with me and my 15-minute-time to do ALL the pictures!

The reception was an awesome blend of Jennifer's southern-North-Carolina-roots and Sam's home in Hong Kong

This band was rocking! They were so funny and kept the whole evening so upbeat!

ps. I need to dedicate this little end section to someone who caught my eye....

I was oblivious that Friday night, the night of the rehearsal. As I was working, I had no idea that someone was watching me. It was one of those "you had me from hello" moments people only dream about.

I got to ride with him to the rehearsal dinner. He tried to play hard to get, but I knew he couldn't look away for too long. We had an instant connection, and because it's hard for a mom to use chopsticks and hold a baby, I got to hold him :)

His mom said "He is so tired, he'll probably fall asleep and be happy as a clam."
He did fall asleep in my arms, and then I was happier than 12 clams :)

Will, you made my weekend extra wonderful!

  1. hello, favorite :)
I really, really love the way you captured this wedding. Well, cause I was there and you did it so perfectly! The colors, angles, everything.

ps: "where do you want me when they light the sprinklers? I mean..."

  3. OK, Kristen.

I've decided that I have to "delurk". I've been a faithful reader of your blog since you posted Shaun and Christy's engagement pics and Christy sent out an email to some old friends with your URL. Ever since then, I'm addicted. I love your photography, but more than that I love your joy and enthusiasm--for what you do, for the people you serve, and for the Lord. Today at church I found myself smiling at you as if you should know who I am. Then I realized--"Wait, just because I sort of feel like I know her doesn't mean that she knows me!" But now you'll at least be vaguely familiar with my name. And if you see a young mom with a huuuuge black stroller and two small children grinning at you as you walk by before or after first service, it's probably me. Someday soon I'll introduce myself in person, but I thought I'd start here for now. Thanks for sharing your gifts with all of us!

  9. WOW! These pictures are GREAT!
My favorite is where Jennifer is standing in front of the picture on the second floor of the nursery. It really looks like she is apart of that picture and they are all looking at her.
    Every picture is absolutely beautiful!

  10. Jennifer is an 'old' high school friend of mine. I shed a tear at getting to see her so happy (and beautiful, but I must say she has always been strikingly beautiful). Thank you. Christy Roe (nee Rowe)
